Who are we?

Benicia Bicycle Club has been active since 1987. Our members have all levels of skill and fitness and believe group bicycling is a fun way to exercise, make new friends, and share the challenges of a great sport. We ride all types of bikes including road, mountain, recumbent, and e-bikes. We have a passion for cycling and enjoy the friendship, camaraderie, and good company that club membership provides. 

What are Our Club objectives?

• Promote public interest in all aspects of bicycling.

• Encourage and facilitate recreational bicycling for all skill levels.

• Increase public awareness of a safe bicycling environment and promote the practice of safe bicycling techniques.

• Promote and protect the rights of bicyclists.

• Promote recreational bicycling for all ages and skill levels through “how-to” workshops, bike rodeos, and cycling on and off roads.

• Encourage people to look at cycling as an alternative means of transportation whether commuting to work or doing errands around town.

• Interface with public agencies regarding safe bike routes in Benicia and surrounding areas.

Why Join?

First and foremost is to have fun and meet people having a common passion for cycling. We are an informal group and set the pace, distance, and terrain for most of our scheduled rides to the skills and interests of the participants. Safety comes first. No one gets left out, left behind, or dropped. We encourage non-members to join a ride and try us out! Additional membership benefits include social events, organized group rides to Marin, Napa, Alameda, and Sonoma counties, and discounts from our cycling vendor sponsors. Membership also provides access to our Club’s Strava application to post your rides and view rides of other members and access to our Club’s TeamSnap application to obtain the latest ride information and to communicate with other members. We encourage you to join the club; individual dues are only $30 annually! We are a non-profit organization and rely on the contributions and the active participation of our members. All cyclists must wear a helmet! Our club insurer requires all cyclists to sign a Waiver of Liability each calendar year;  Waiver Form Here. Prospective members who desire to join a club ride must also sign this waiver.
